It’s been a long long time since my last posting. What can I say? A new job and getting married last year meant something had to give. I still shopped a ton, I just didn’t blog about it. But I’m back, baby!

Today I’m feeling indignant on the behalf of Manolo Blahnik. Just look at this cheap knock of Sedaraby produced by Steve Madden!

Seeing as how the real deal were my wedding shoes, I just think it’s wrong.

Full disclosure, I was totally into a pair of White House Black Market shoes that were clearly a Jimmy Choo knock off, but I just don’t have that loyalty to the Choo, I guess. Sorry, buddy.

Saturday I innocently went to Neiman Marcus. My objective: wedding shoes. I was thinking I’d go with these classic Stuart Weitzman’s:

Which, by the way, are normally $325 and are currently on sale on the website for $163

But while I was there, I thought, “why not try on those Manolo Blahniks?”

And I did.

And I don’t know that I’ve ever grinned or beamed as much over a pair of shoes. Which is saying quite a lot.

And now, I own these.

DRESSES!

I just bought this plunging v-neck dress for $20 in black, and I am stoked to get it. Seems like it will be very versatile and wearable.

But I also have my eye on this sweaterdress, because I can’t resist sweaterdresses!

So much for being grounded, eh?

I’m obsessed with sweaterdresses, and right now I’m itching to pick up this one. It’s a Wool/cashmere/nylon/elastane blend by Ralph Lauren, in wearable grey and just $37.

But I did just buy a Maggy London dress yesterday. And I’m still supposed to be grounded.

wedding shoe redux

I just can’t figure it out. How do you choose just one pair of shoes?

My dress is simple and elegant and beautiful. A chiffon, grecian-inspired, drapey, strapless, sweetheart neckline gown. The bridesmaid dresses are wearing a Lotus (purple) Maggy London chiffon one shoulder dress. I’m also wearing a silver and diamond necklace that my grandma wore in her wedding, and a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings that were also my grandma’s.

So, I have purple, blue, silver…but I keep looking at gold shoes. Can you do that?

These are technically “Steel,” and I really like them.

But I also love:

This could potentially be the right purple
Or this purple
I’ve had my eye on these for forever
And d’Orsay peep toe pumps, particularly by Jimmy Choo, are irresistible.

Sigh. Well, they’re at a wide variety of price points. I guess that’s a good thing.
